Baby Acne??

So, Rob was totally right. Yesterday he said "They told us in Baby Care class that this is just baby acne and it will go away. But, Im willing to take her to the Dr for your peace of mind." So we did, and he was right. Oh well. Lets just hope the nasty stuff goes away soon and isnt an indication of what her high school days will be like. This kid will need some serious Proactiv!
So just trying to get thru the work week, for some reason it seems that Ellie only sleeps well on the weekends. Last night she wouldnt go to bed and then woke at 4 and 6. Then she wouldnt go back to sleep so I resorted to putting her in the swing and sleeping on the couch. Man I hate that couch!
Anyway, the squeaker is squeaking so I better go see what is wrong with her. Until next time...

Update

Ok, Im doing this very quickly while the baby kinda sleeps. Ellie isnt sleeping thru the night anymore which is a major bummer! She is up almost every 2 hours screaming for food. We did break down and give her one bottle of formula at night to fill her tummy (breastmilk digests faster) and it seems to help keep her asleep a bit longer. Rob has been helping alot with the night feedings which is helping me keep my sanity. Poor guy was up til 3 am with her last night after I passed out on the couch.
I am taking Ellie to Urgent Care today since she has a really strange rash all over her face. It was just a few bumps on Friday and now its all over. I dont want to wait til tomorrow when her pedi is open, so to urgent care we go. I just hope it goes away by next weekend, its not particularly attractive on her.
Yesterday we took Ellie on her first trip to El Maya. She slept thru the whole thing and I had the yummiest lunch. I highly recommend everything there! We ran to Target and got some groceries and more baby stuff. Its amazing how many diapers one kid can go through. Although, we have been buying the Target brand ones and they are half the price! Yay!
Friday I went out to Davids bridal with Jen and we picked out my bridesmaid dress. I think we are both happy with it. It is really nice looking and now J doesnt have to worry about it anymore. Definitely a plus when the wedding date is looming over her head. I so dont miss the whole wedding planning part! Yesterday she met us over at Target to drop off some pictures I had loaned her. One of the collage frames had gotten broken a while back (dont let a Young sit in a wooden chair) so Jen actually had them framed and matted in a really nice frame to go in our living room. So nice! I would never have gotten around to doing that and now I can hang it in our house to enjoy. So, thanks Jen! I should take a picture of it too. Will try to do that later.
Ok- So baby is fussing, gotta cut this short. I will try to post some pics later.

Maybe the screaming was worth it??

So, Ellie never napped yesterday. At all. It was rather overwhelming. But- she slept last night from 10pm-5:45 am and then went back down til 9. I feel like a new woman!
Everything is going really well in most areas, her gas is still pretty bad but seems to be getting better. At least she isnt on formula, that was pure torture for all of us. I am making way ahead of what she needs and will start freezing some breast milk to send when she goes to daycare in a few weeks (boohoo...) She is gaining weight like crazy and her first pediatrician appt is on Wednesday. I have an appt with my OB on Thursday. Im feeling great and havent had to take very much Percoset at all. I took one last night for the first time in about 4 days. Im just down to the Ibuprofen which makes me feel alot more comfortable. I hate the thought that Ellie was getting pain killers thru my milk, but the alternative would not have been pretty (mommy hates pain..)
Anyway, will try to post more pics soon.

Well at least its not more pictures of the dogs...

Just a quick update. Ellie is good, she is keeping us up all night but she is still adorable. Just adding a couple pics from yesterday, but she is squeaking so its gotta be fast!

The most beautiful girl in the world

Rob is gonna kill me for adding this, but he has become the most amazing Daddy. This picture just sums it up.

More Ellie

Today we took our first trips outside the house. We went to West Des Moines to pick up a couple things for me and the baby, and we stopped in at Robs cousin's graduation party (for like 5 minutes). Ellie is so good! She slept thru it all with a little careful planning from Mommy and Daddy. Here is another cute pic of Ellie.

Dont tell me No!

Home again

We are home. At last. I was so ready to get out of the hospital and get home to start enjoying our little girl. Ellie checked out perfect this morning with the pediatrician and my Dr says I am healing up well. (and the Percoset is helping nicely...haha)
Just thought I would post some more pics of Ellie, and her sweet little face. The hospital picture is up on the Iowa Methodist website now too. (but it is not nearly as cute as the real thing!)
Hmmm, I look suprisingly calm. If only I knew what I was in for...
Daddy cuts the cord.
She loves her binky!

Awwww......
What a difference a day and a shower can make. I felt sooooo much better here. It was nice to finally get out of bed and walk around. Ellie loves her new pack and play. Thanks Uncle Larry! See, she is even doing a little dance.

The countdown is on...

In 12 hours I will be checking into the hospital. They called today to confirm my induction and it was surreal. It seems strange to think that we are actually having a baby soon. Im terrified about the IV and epidural and anything else pain related, but I am sure I will deal with things as they come. It just seems like such a huge ordeal to go thru, but Im just taking it one thing at a time.
Rob is mowing the yard and cleaned the house up yesterday to make sure its nice for Ellies arrival. We are just taking care of last minute things tonight and double checking everything. Hopefully we will be home soon and I wont have to stay very long in the hospital.
The poor dogs are going to be the most shocked. Rob and I have had so much time to adjust to the baby idea but the dogs will be missing us for a couple days. Then, when we come home we will bring a squirmy, screaming little bundle. I hope they like her! They both do really well with babies though, so I am sure it will be fine.
So, I guess that is it for now. I will post when I get home and try to add some pictures when I can (although I have a feeling that Mom and Jen will beat me to it). Ellie is on her way!
