Well, yesterday I woke up so dizzy I couldnt walk without holding onto the walls. I figured this might be another wonderful pregnancy side effect. I ended up staying home from work, and called the Dr to see if something might be wrong. They had me come in right away.
After they tested my glucose, blood pressure etc they tested my blood. The Dr said my hemoglobin was low and that I would need to take iron pills. I guess that explains my red meat cravings! So, we had steak (yum!) and potatoes for dinner last night.
That is all for now, gotta get my heiney in gear at work.

Allright, that is it. Im complaining!
Waaah! Poor me!
Friday I had a Drs appt to draw my blood for the AFP test. (a test that determines risk for genetic abnormalities in the baby, no results yet) Anyhoo, they needed blood. I am a turnip. You can see how this may have been a problem. Well, 2 sticks later the phlebotomist gave up. She said I needed to go to the lab at the hospital Saturday morning. Ok. Im used to it.
Saturday morning I woke up bright and early to go get stabbed again. They determine that my arms are worthless, but that my hand looks promising. I get stabbed in the HAND! It hurt more, but not terrible.
Fast forward to today. I have a wellness appt at work. I get 100 bucks just for participating. So- Im in! They will retest in Sept and I will get up to 360$ towards my benefit package. Well, they stuck me in the arm and then decided to go in the same hand again. OUCH! This time it really freaking hurt. It continues to hurt. They said that it will swell up, bruise and generally be a pain in the...hand. So, im icing my hand (right hand of course).
Pity me. This sucks.

Baby Zucchini
How your baby's growing: Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and he measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the length of a small zucchini. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. If your baby is a girl, she has an astonishing six million eggs in her ovaries. They'll dwindle to fewer than two million by the time she's born.
Poof! An official pregnant lady belly.
Friday night we went out to Robs work Christmas party. It was lame, and the food sucked. Again. Oh well. The owner of the company said next year they are going to do something different (b/c he has been getting complaints) Haha. We didnt win the big prize either. Boohoo. I was all sad b/c I wore my baby shirt, but I thought I just looked fat that night.
Fast forward to Saturday morning. We woke up and decided to go out to look at Tv's with Larry and Shirley. (oh yeah, the big screen is officially dead. So, now we have to figure out something else.) I also woke up with something new. A pregnant belly. It sticks out and everything. So strange, and really hard to get used to.
Sunday we went to Tequilas and bumped in to Melissa and Gustavo. Not much else that day, except we did get the house pretty clean. I did the bedroom, bathroom and laundry and Rob was on kitchen and dish detail. We have to finish the living room and computer desk tonight.
Well, it is Monday and it sucks. I normally cant complain much about work, but we are super busy and the systems keep crashing. I think someone in IT needs a butt kicking! Haha! Oh well, It will be Friday before I know it.

I think I felt the baby move...
As I was about to drift off to sleep last night, I felt a jab in my belly. It was different than anything else I have ever felt. I think it had to have been the baby. It was so wierd! I think it was the baby saying, "Listen Lady, you have got to quit sleeping on your stomach, you are squishing me!" So, I laid awake for about an hour hoping it would happen again, and no such luck.
Whoa. As I am writing this, it happened again. Hello Baby!!

Baby Sweet Potato
How your baby's growing: Head to bottom, your baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a large sweet potato) and she weighs almost 7 ounces. She's busy flexing her arms and legs — movements that you'll likely start noticing more and more. Her blood vessels are visible through her thin skin and her ears are now in position and stand out from her head. Myelin (a protective covering) is beginning to form around her nerves, a process that will continue for a year after she's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and Fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If your baby is a boy, his genitals are noticeable, though he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

Its a small world after all...
Last night we went to dinner at Melissa and Gustavos house. We brought the salad and texas toast (yum). Melissa made some super tasty spaghetti. I think I have a serious spaghetti addiction. I made it for dinner Wednesday night, ate the leftovers for lunch Thursday and then ate at their house Thursday night. Oh well, it is better than my steak fajita addiction.
Anyhoo, they also invited Gus's friends Casey and Niko over for dinner. We have met them a couple times before, but not hung out with them. So I knew that Casey was due approx the same time as me. Well, come to find out we are due on the SAME DAY! How bizarre is that?? I dont think we could have planned it if we tried. (well they didnt plan it at all, but that is another subject) Ooh. That was snarky, I apologize.
In other news, it is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend. I think we are going to try to make it to the dog park sometime. Maybe I will get adventurous and actually take some pictures of the dogs frolicking! What will probably happen is that I will sleep until 2-3 pm each day and then be too lazy to get out there by dark. But, I have good intentions. Doesnt that count for something??
Well, It is almost the weekend. The puppies go nuts when we tell them it is the weekend. (although Piper has thought that every day this week. The dog is loco)
So- signing out. Puppies- it is the "WEEKEND!!!""

This is why you should control your kids at restaurants!
Is it bad that I think this is HILARIOUS?!? Maybe I am not ready to be a Mom. (or I should be glad that I dont like Applebees) I guess it was served in the kids cup with the lid and straw and everything, so Mom didnt realize until the kid was blitzed!I bet that waiter lost his tip...

This one is for you, Marsha...
Well, I have been trying to think of things to blog about. I know my aunt is bored out of her mind in Fort Dodge. I think it is the weather and the boring 6 month winter that has gotten me down. There are no barbeques to attend, no dog park outings to report, and no pool parties to host. So sad. The winter is just one long, cold, drab sadness to me. Boohoo.
So, the updates-
1. My belly is stretching and it feels very strange. Apparently my uterus is the size of a canteloupe. Mmm. Canteloupe. Baby is the size of a large onion now.
2. Baby is still not kicking hard enough to feel. We hear him moving like mad on the doppler, I just cant feel it yet. The Dr said I should be able to pretty soon.
3 At the last appt the Dr took one look at Rob and informed me that he is "just going to install a zipper right here" while pointing at my belly. Grrrreat. Although, he is a super nice and very funny Dr, I am not looking forward to a c-section.
4. Buster has yet another horrible yeast/staph infection on his back. I am treating him with antibiotics, yeast pills, allergy pills and a good dose of shame. The reason the little monster got this infection is because he is a little piggy and ate chocolate before Christmas. (see prior post)
He has also figured out how to hold a pill in his mouth and spit it back at you. Not so fun when you have to give him 3 pills twice a day. So, I found a way around it. I hold his snout straight up, put the pills in and hold it shut. Then I use a little bit of the wet food still on the spoon and wipe it on his nose. Then I watch him try to resist licking his nose for about 30 seconds while I make snide comments. Then swallow, lick nose, and victory for Mommy. HA! This baby better not mess with me, or I will put wet dog food on his nose too.
5. Veronica is still out on maternity leave and I miss her desperately. Come back Veronica!
6. ummmmmm. Work sucks??
7. I am hardcore into trying to find a less expensive option for daycare for the kid. We have our name on the list for a great center, but it is 160.00 a week. So, I have started looking into home daycares to see what we can find. It worries me a little, but I know we can find someone wonderful (hopefully for closer to 100/wk). If not, we still have the center to fall back on. So, let the calls begin!
8. My morning sickness is getting better, it hasnt gone away though. Mostly just nausea and the "loud gags" ha ha! Now, im on to Round Ligament Pain. Let me tell you, its no fun.
9. Rob is on the hunt for Girl Scout cookies, I have informed him that if he doesnt find and order me some pronto, its lights out for Robby. He did forward me an email today that someone at his work is selling for their kid. Yippee! Thin mints and Tagalongs here I come!
I think that is about it for now. I promise to try to update more often. It just seems that there is nothing exciting going on, but I guess there must be!

Baby Avocado
How your baby's growing: At 4 1/2 inches long (head to bottom) and 3 1/2 ounces, your baby is about the size of an avocado. In the next three weeks, he'll go through a tremendous growth spurt, though, doubling his weight and adding inches to his length. His lower limbs are much more developed now. His head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved toward the front of his head. Your baby's ears are close to their final position, too. Some of his more advanced body systems are working, including his circulatory system and urinary tract. His heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, circulating his total blood volume through his body many times. (By the end of your pregnancy, this will increase to about 190 quarts.) The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his hair isn't recognizable yet. Although closed, his eyes are moving (slowly), and he's even started growing toenails.
