Today we went to Target to get everything we need for Ellie to arrive and updated the registry. A lot of people had a hard time with it at the first shower and Im hoping to save everyone some hassle with the next one.
As soon as we got home I went nuts taking everything out of packages and organizing, reorganizing and then reorganizing again. I have a big load of baby laundry to do tomorrow and then she can show up any day! (but not too soon) Too bad this nesting urge doesnt make me want to clean any other room. Oh well!
We went to the Dr this week for my 32 week appt and he is concerned about how much my feet are swelling and the nausea Im feeling. He said its all pretty normal, but that he might want to take me out of work earlier than normal. I have another appt this Friday to see how things are going. I have been feeling better since I am taking it a bit easier. (so Im hoping not to get put on bedrest)
Not much else going on, just finishing things up in the nursery and counting down the days. Its rainy and dreary here and supposed to be all weekend. Yuck. Until next time...

Nursery Update
Well, we got everything unpacked and put away in the nursery. It is so fun to see everything coming together! We are going to go to Target sometime in the nest couple weeks to get all the things we need before Ellie makes her appearance. Rob hung the curtains yesterday and they look so adorable!

The pink crackle glass curtain rods.

Love the curtains! They match perfectly.
The diaper cakes from the shower. The one in front made by Mom, and the one in back made by Emilie. They are sitting on the gorgeous quilt made by Robs grandma. (and that is the pony seat next to them)
I am getting so impatient for Ellie to get here already!

Post Baby Shower update
Wow! I cant believe what an amazing shower we had yesterday. So many people came and brought such awesome gifts for little Ellie. We had a great time and it was nice to catch up with people i havent seen for a while. We had great food and super yummy cake. Jennifer did such an awesome job on all the little details that I wouldnt have even thought about. Everyone was so impressed with the crafty name tags and the invites. So cool! Thanks Jen!
So, Thank you to everyone for coming and helping welcome little Ellie into the world. I cant wait for everyone to meet her!

Happy Easter!
Today we went over to Robs parents house to have a nice big meal. I brought devilled eggs (excellent as always) and a pasta salad that was only soso. I tried to get Rob to eat a yellow pepper, no go. Robs mom made ham and scalloped potatoes and a yummy fruit salad. We definitely had enough to eat!
We watched the Cardinals game, and Pujols hit 3 home runs. Pretty decent!
We came home afterwards and worked on Ellie's room a little bit. We got her letters on the wall and also hung some butterfly pegs that Jennifer painted.
A couple pics of updates in Ellies room...

In Full Bloom

Hello Magnolia!
In honor of the gorgeous weather we have seen the last couple weeks, the Magnolia tree in our backyard has bloomed. I think this is by far my favorite part of our house. It is so beautiful and blooms twice a year. Happy almost Summer!

I'm a slacker...
I know I havent updated lately, but we havent been doing much. Its been great! We got all the big nursery stuff done, and now we are relaxing this weekend. Rob had a big week at work, and has a ton of projects going on so it is good that we are slowing down at home.
Saturday we drove down to St. Charles to see Robs Grandma and Grandpa. They just got back from Texas, where they winter. Sue and Shelby came down too, and brought some kites. We all sat around and talked for a while then attempted to fly the kites. There wasnt much wind, but we had fun for a little while. Sue brought their dog, Precious and I played Chuck it with him for a while. He is growing up to be a pretty cool dog. He is still hyper, but he is still pretty young. He did a great job staying close to us and not getting close to the road.
Today we worked on getting Ellies letters painted. Rob did 2 coats of spray paint, and I think we need a third. The wood is just absorbing it and we can still see woodgrain on the sides.
We took the dogs to the dog park today for the first time this spring. They loved it, and we walked the whole park. I did ok, but my hips are hurting now! Its wierd how much a giant squirming baby can affect the way you walk. Haha.
Just watching the Cubs/Cardinals game now, and doing some laundry. Tomorrow is back to work.

Glider heaven
Yesterday we got the last big piece of furniture all put together in Ellie's room. The glider is checked off the list! I think I might get a small table or bench to put next to the window to hold a lamp and bottles etc. but Im not sure yet. Here is a picture of the glider...

Not much else going on this week, just enjoying the extra sunshine every afternoon. The dogs are outside barking at everything they can see. (our neighbors have a beagle though, so they deserve the extra noise!) It seems that spring is finally trying to show up. I cant wait!

Serious Progress!
We spent the day today putting together Ellie's furniture and working on her room. We are now in the fun part, decorating! Jen and I went to Michaels today and picked up the letters to paint and hang on the wall. That is probably a next weekend project. Anyway, here are some pictures of our progress. We had fun putting out all her stuff and admiring it. ;)

The crib with the new mobile on it, the quilts that our grandmas made, and the horsey chair in it. We found the perfect spot for the giant horse we bought last Christmas.

View from other side of the room, her changing table combo with her cute little outfits displayed. Rob's grandma made the water bowl and pitcher sitting on top.
