Its FRIDAY!
I never realized as a kid how much it sucks to work. I was just so darn excited about graduating high school and living "on my own". Oh, what I wouldnt give to have no responsibility or bills. (Rob and I have been making the "baby budget") It is amazing just what it costs to have a house and a nice car and food!
This weekend is Marilyns birthday party (Robs grandma on Larrys side) She is turning 80 years old, should be a nice party.
Not much going on, just wishing it was 5...

First day back after the birthday bash...
Well, i went back to work today. Yeowch! It stunk. We were so busy i think i forgot to breathe a few times. (Veronica will agree) Enough about that...
So, Saturday was the big bash, you all know b/c you were there! So, i dont have to elaborate. Can you tell im tired? Terrible grammar and no correct capitalization. oh well.
Sunday, we went to Robs Grandma's house. We had a nice time talking to her, and the inlaws had a good time too! Rob and Larry are off picking up Marilyns b-day present. This weekend is her 80th birthday. Lots of July Birthdays, Sue is July 31, im July 25, Larry is July 24 and Marilyn is August 3rd. Makes for a busy few weeks.
That should be all for now... wish i had some "news" but not yet...
PS Hi Marsha! (just a shoutout to our newest reader)

Im think im actually in a good mood despite the fact that i had to get up early to attend training that didnt even pertain to my dept. Whatever. At least i get 1/2 hr of overtime. 24 YEARS! Thats like 1/4 of a century!
Holy crap. How did this happen? Im beginning to panic. Im almost 24, which is almost 25, which is pretty much 30, and then 40 and 50 will be here before it realize it. Im not sure what to do about it. I guess i just have to suck it up and get old. Dammit.
(I had a big rant here about how pissed off I am that I havent gotten knocked up yet, im sparing you of that)
Hopefully I will be in a better mood for the next post. I am hating my job right now. But, its my b-day weekend, and I took Monday off to spend the day with my Robby.

My puppy hell is almost over.
I think i like puppies, they are cute and soft and have that great puppy breath. But they also shit and piss all over your house. We have been working very hard to get the puppy pottytrained. He is doing great actually, but sometimes i want to strangle the life out of him. Its not his fault, he is just a puppy. Im glad he is going home today. Someone else can scrub his piss out of the carpet.
Saturday we had a party at the pool. Didnt really mean to, but we had a couple friends over and we just kept inviting anyone who called. We had fun, we swam and lit the fire. We had smores, and i nearly drowned a couple times. Cherry Uv Vodka and Lemonade is the best!
I went to a baby shower yesterday for Emilie. It was actually fun, as far as baby showers go. There werent very many people there, which was nice. Good munchies and had a nice time talking to Sarah and met a few new people. Pretty uneventful weekend. It was about 105 out, so just tried to keep cool.
Oh! We found a new mexican place this weekend. Actually, Robs uncle Gary told him about it. Its in Altoona and i had some really good Shrimp and Steak Fajitas. Yum. We will have to take Mom and Kurtis there next time they come up. They share our love of fine mexican dining. Thats all for now.

Glad I dont have a puppy anymore...
Tonight we begin our week of dog-sitting. Actually, puppy-sitting. Susan and Shelby brought over their puppy Precious tonight. They are going to see Larry in DC, so we are watching the puppy until next Monday. It should be fun! We are working on housetraining and biting so far. Piper is working on patience, now he knows what it is like to be annoyed nonstop! I think he finally understands what Buster went through.
He looks so innocent, doesnt he?
Grr! Vicious puppy! (actually they were not even biting, just looks good in pictures!)
Surrender to me, Piper!

You better keep that little shit away from me, Mom. (Buster doesnt like the puppy, He thinks that we have gotten a 3rd dog again)

Dog party!
Yesterday, our friends Clint and Tanya called to invite us to a birthday party. It is their dogs 5th birthday today! We ended up inviting them over last night to swim and roast s'mores in the fire. We had a good time, it was so warm. I think we are living the good life here with the pool and the fire pit.
Today, we woke up early (11am) and got ready to take the dogs to the Raccoon River dog park. What a neat place! We met Clint and Tanya there, with their dog, Ceasar. He is a boxer, and HUGE! They were also dogsitting a female boxer, Augie. Derek and Dana brought their lab, Herky and Clints mom brought her little puppy, Ginger. We let everyone run around in the fenced area for a bit, then we decided to take them down to the lake to swim.
There were various labs, weimaraners, and retrievers at the lake swimming. Then there was Buster. He jumped right in with the big dogs and was trying to retrieve tennis balls! At one point, Rob thought he might have to swim out and get Buster. Little shit, thought he could swim waaaay out with the labs.
This is what happens when a corgi swims too much...

Poor buster...
We finished up at the dog park, and headed over to Clint and Tonyas to grill out. It was sweltering. We had a good time, but im not a fan of 90 degree weather. Left about 4pm, then came home and jumped in the pool. It felt great. So, now im just enjoying the air conditioning. I dont think i would make it thru a single day with out air.
Poor Buster is limping, i think he must have slipped when getting out of the lake or something. Fed him a Rimadyl, hopefully we wont have to take him to the vet.

London Bombing
I forgot to say one more thing, there was a terrible tragedy in London today. I cant even fathom what the people are going through right now. Im glad that Marsha is home safe, and isnt in the middle of all that. If you are the type of person who prays, say a prayer for the victims and families of those involved. There are truly some monsters in this world.

I have nothing to say....
Ok, im updating the blog! I may have created a monster, my sister is now the blog updating Nazi.
Ummm...I guess we did get some interesting news this weekend. Robs friend Randy got married! In March! and didnt tell us. Nice. He also moved to Wyoming. And didnt tell us! I think we are trying to plan a trip up there Labor Day weekend, but we will see what happens. 13 hours on I80 just doesnt sound like a blast to me. I would love to see Wyoming though, it is supposed to be beautiful.
I got to hold the baby again last night, he is so adorable. This is making the baby fever a bit too unbearable for me. On that note, I should be ovulating sometime soon. I hope Robs little spermies are up for an adventure. Gross. That was too much. Im sorry.
Well, im at work, i had a 2 hour "focus group" on the Wellmark Values this morning. I hate all that positive mumbojumbo. I was glad to have 2 hours off the phone though. We had to talk about the core values and how they relate to our job, etc, etc. Ugh.
Still planning my birthday party, looks like we are inviting around 30 people. Should be some fun!
Thats all for now, maybe if you are lucky we will put up a picture of the Equinox.

Here is Gustavo, baby Vincent looks exactly like him! Look at those big blue eyes...
And a full head of hair! Looks like that heartburn thing holds true for Melissa...

Here are Derek and Heather with the new baby. If we are lucky they will be pregnant soon too!

Yet more news!
This has definitely been an exciting weekend. Friday night we went to the Yankee Doodle Pops downtown. Rob and I and his parents (Shirley and Larry) loaded up into the mini-van and sat down by the river to watch the fireworks over the buildings. (Get it, in a van down by the river? Thank you Chris Farley) There are few times that I am actually impressed with Des Moines, but I do love the look of downtown. But the traffic? Not so much. We had a good time, had some fun with the in-laws.
Saturday there was a pool party next door, Shirley had her side of the family over. It was nice to see everyone, we haven't all gotten together in a while. Danielle came back over that evening and we all roasted marshmallows in the fire pit (a wedding gift from Randy. Good gift!)and talked (got drunk). We went for a swim too! It was FREEZING! We had a good time though, and didnt get to bed til 5:30 am. Whoops!
This weekend had one very special surprise. My friend Melissa had to get admitted to the hospital for her pre-eclampsia on Friday. They wanted to watch and make sure everything was ok with her and the baby. Pretty scary. We went up Saturday night and spent some time with her, everything was fine with her and the baby but the drs werent going to let her go home yet. No talk of inducing or anything. She said she was craving Deviled Eggs, so on the way home i got some eggs to make for her and take up Sunday.
Woke up Sunday morning with Gus on the phone. Melissa's water broke at 2am! Well, i guess she doesnt want the eggs :) She delivered a little boy, Vincent at 5:51 pm Sunday, July 3rd. One day after his Daddys 24th birthday. He is 6lbs. 10oz., 20.5 in. long and doing great. Congrats guys, cant wait to see him.
I think that is most of the exciting news this weekend. It's been a busy one! Tomorrow we are going to go visit the new baby and hopefully get some swimming in too. Then, it's back to the grind on Tuesday. Ugh.

Not to be outdone...
Buster is on a diet. He has lost some weight and would like some recognition. As the ladies at Weight Watchers would say "Let's celebrate that" Here is your little red ribbon buster...
The amazing flying Peeps!
PINK FLOYD REUNITED!
July 2nd may be the best day ever. (well behind our wedding and maybe a couple other days) Pigs have flown. We watched the first live show with Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters together in 20 years. Holy freaking crap. Rob and I had the show streaming on the computer, the XM going in the car and the Tivo taping. Technology is a beautiful thing.
The reason they got together? The G8 is meeting to discuss world policy. So, in a way Bush is the reason that they reunited. Thanks GW. You finally did one thing right. Evil is a powerful thing, and even the Floyd recognize that. Oops, i got on a tangent there. Sorry, Mom.
We have "high hopes" that there will be a reunion tour. Im willing to sell a kidney to get there, wherever in the world it is. (Im sure Rob is willing too) So, any takers? I hear there is an awfully good market for kidneys these days.

Pictures of the coolest people ever. Seriously.
You want photos? Here we are in all our demonic glory. Note: I am a Zombie Prom Queen, not a prostitute. Thought I would clear that up right now! Rob is an evil Dr who apparently killed many, many bad Republicans. Hissssssss!
This is Mr. Peeps, he is our adorable and very gay Brittany. We have plans to put him in a pink dress with faux fur scrunchies on his ears.
This is what we look like all cleaned up. We're hot.
This is Buster, he is by far the most adorable dog ever. Except to Piper, he thinks Buster is the anti-christ.
The first day!
Well, I guess I should introduce myself. I am Jessica Young, married to Robert Young (the giant). We have 2 dogs. Buster is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and he is 3 years old. I will post some pictures when I am not at work (shh dont tell!) We also have a Brittany, his name is Piper. He is a handful!
Rob just got a new car, a 2005 Chevy Equinox. He is a spoiled brat. I swear he got down on the floor of the dealership and beat his fists on the ground. BUT MOM I WANT IT!!! Ok, i made that part up, but it is a great visual.
We own our own home, coincidently right next to the in-laws. (the Youngs) more on that later... ;)
I guess I should pay tribute to the person who inspired me to start a blog. I have been reading my friend Veronica's blog, and also following her moms too. These are some funny people! I love reading about the hay baling, horses and going on in their lives. Reminds me of my own mommy. Awwww. Love their horses too, if i had my way i would have already bought London.
http://www.metc.net/~rsbeymer/london.html Too bad i dont have a farm yet!
My plan is to start a blog, and convince my sister, Jennifer and my Mom to start one too. Oh, the evils of the internet. Mom recently got DSL and Caller id! Welcome to the 90's! Im just hoping this can be a fun way to keep in touch with each other.
This weekend looks like its going to be a busy one. Tomorrow we have a pool party to attend at the Youngs house. (love having a pool right next door!) Then, we have Gustavos birthday party. Gus is turning 24 tomorrow, and will soon be a Daddy. His girlfriend, Melissa is pregnant with a boy whose name will be Vincent. I cant wait! She is due this month, around the 20th. I am hoping for a July 25 baby, since that is my birthday. I dont think it is going to happen, the drs are talking about inducing her within the next 2 weeks. Cant wait to see those chubby baby cheeks! We are planning a big pool party at the Youngs for my birthday, im hoping Mom and my sister can attend. We will have to try to pry Kurtis away from his new job at Scheels. I hear he loves it. I am glad someone loves their job :)
Well, thats all for now. Keep watching, the madness will ensue soon!
